Iceland here we come!

Ok, so here's the breakdown of our holiday season.

1. Decided to buy a new house
2. Needed to fix up our place before we could sell it
3. Thanksgiving
4. Christmas
5. Vacation in Iceland

All in a span of about 6 weeks. If Kelli is trying to drive me insane, it's definately working. We apparently decided to celebrate my new job (IT at Kennewick General Hospital) by getting a bigger house payment. Our little thousand square foot matchbox just wasn't cutting it any more, BUT if we wanted to take advantage of the $6500 rebate we needed to move pretty dang fast.

In the last 6 weeks, we've completely remodeled a bathroom, the kitchen, painted the entire house and started on the main bathroom. The goal was to try and finish before our trip to Iceland. We got close, but didn't quite finish. We did however manage to get it done enough to put in an offer today on a house we've been looking at for a few weeks.

Today was crazy. I got off work at 2pm, rushed to Windermere to place an offer, then rushed to the airport for our trip to Iceland, which probably has you wondering "Why on earth would anyone want to visit a country called Iceland, smack dab in the middle of winter."

Kelli's aunt Roxanne sadly became a widow this last summer. Her husband Al passed away after a long fight with Alzheimers and a series of gradually worsening strokes. The two of them loved to travel together all over the world. This past October Roxanne told us she had wanted to see the northern lights, something she had never seen before, but didn't want to go by herself. After asking a few other relatives who were obviously more sane than Kelli and I, she very genrously offered to take us and the girls with her. Of course we said "Yes!" If only she knew what she was getting herself into...

Which brings us back to today. We flew to Seattle, where we're staying for the night to ensure we won't miss our flight to Rekyjavik. We leave Saturday @ 3:30pm local time, and arrive 8 hours later at 7am Iceland time.

If you look closely you can almost see the plane!
Zoe and Ella's first flight! Zoe wrote about it in her journal.
And here we are in Seattle waiting for our shuttle.
