Iceland's Southern Coast and Waterfalls.

Our last day trip while in Iceland brings us to the southern coast. An area known for it's black sandy beaches, and towering waterfalls.

Our first stop was at waterfall Seljalandsfoss, apparently when the base isn't surrounded by ice you can actually walk around behind the waterfall. I tried getting close but BOY was it cold!

I don't know what it is with Kelli's obsession for trying to jump into ice-cold rivers, but here I am AGAIN trying to stop her! At least this time I was lucky enough that Zoe happened to be holding the camera and took a picture of me CLEARLY trying to stop her from jumping in.

Pictures of the folk museum in Skogar. The museum was founded in 1949 by Thordur Tomasson. (below) At the time, Icelanders were all about the new and modern and weren't interested in preserving the past. Thankfully this man was, as the museum is filled with priceless pieces of Icelands wonderful history.

It was a beautiful but very wet and windy tour that at the end became a little bittersweet for me. Tomorrow we go home. And while I will probably mope around for a week or two missing the beautiful landscape and rich culture, I'll always be able to look back at remember this wonderful trip that could never have been possible if it wasn't for Roxann. To her we are eternally grateful.
